Tiago Ilharco
Tiago Ilharco holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Built Heritage Rehabilitation from the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University (FEUP), as well as an Executive MBA from the Porto Business School.
He is co-founder, Managing Partner and Head of Business Development at NCREP.
Since 2005, he has been professionally active in the field of built heritage conservation, having participated in numerous projects and studies involving structural survey, structural analysis, and the design of conservation and strengthening solutions for existing constructions. Notable interventions include the Palácio Nacional de Mafra, the walls of Óbidos and Peniche, the Supremo Tribunal de Justiça, and the study of the seismic resilience of traditional buildings in Bhutan.
He is a senior member and structural specialist of the Portuguese Association of Engineers and a professional member of the INTBAU College of Traditional Practitioners, an international association based in the United Kingdom.
He is also active in academia and professional training. He is an invited lecturer at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Escola das Artes and a trainer for the Portuguese Association of Engineers and the Portuguese Association of Architects. In the associative field, he is a founding partner and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Portuguese Association of Urban Rehabilitation and Heritage Protection (APRUPP) and a member of the General Assembly of the GECoRPA – Grémio do Património. He has published widely in conference proceedings and scientific journals and has participated in the COST Actions FP1101 e FP1402 and as a member of the CEN/TC250/SC5.
