Bruno Quelhas
Bruno Quelhas holds both undergraduate and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering Structures from the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University (FEUP) and a PhD from the Università degli Studi di Padova in “Structural Conservation of Historical and Modern Buildings”.
He is co-founder and Head of Sustainability and Marketing at NCREP.
Since 2005, he has been professionally active in the field of built heritage conservation, having participated in numerous projects and studies involving structural survey, structural analysis, and the design of conservation and strengthening solutions for existing constructions. Notable interventions include the Aqueduto das Águas Livres, the Mosteiro de Odivelas, the Palácio Nacional de Sintra, and the Seminário de Coimbra.
He is a senior member and structural specialist of the Portuguese Association of Engineers and a member of International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH). He collaborated for two years with the Protezione Civile Italiana and the Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali in managing and implementing post-earthquake emergency activities to safeguard Cultural Heritage in Abruzzo following the 2009 earthquake.
He is also a trainer for the Portuguese Association of Engineers and the Portuguese Association of Architects. In the associative field, he is a founding partner and member of the Supervisory Board of the Portuguese Association of Urban Rehabilitation and Heritage Protection (APRUPP).
He is the author of more than 90 publications in structural rehabilitation presented at conferences, seminars, and leading international scientific journals.
